Come On India!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After much speculation and guessing Team India was selected for the World Cup. Selectors didn’t throw any surprises this time around and selected a more predictable team. As always this selection process is also marred by controversies. Front runner is inclusion of Virendra Shewag, who got a boost in confidence from the selectors and the captain. All others players select for themselves with few exceptions.

I predicted the world cup team couple of months back, my team came closely to what selected with exception of Uthappa, I had Gambhir in it. Given a chance I would also select Robin. Robin Uthappa has played couple of solid knocks and he often plays with straight bat which will be asset in West Indies. Gautam Gambhir is also a flamboyant player with variety of strokes in his armory but I think he gets carried away and throws his wicket casually; it’s a primary reason why he is not included in the squad.

Inclusion of Dinesh Karthik might have not gone well with some people, who thought Kaif or VVS might have been better choice. I totally disagree, I think VVS is a very good test player but his One Day game is not up to the mark. If India really want to take shot at winning world cup then they need a team and players who can really stretch to extreme in field. VVS lacks not only fielding abilities but also his running between the wicket is awful.

The area of concern for the Indians is there fielding. With top guns aging, the average age has gone up. One day cricket is all about running between wickets, taking catches and saving runs. The team that does the best will ultimately be the winner. Anil Kumble, Ganguly, Munaf are major concern in terms of there fielding abilities. Team India has to come up with plan to least exposes these players in trying fielding situations.

The key element is playing in West Indies is adapting to the conditions. As we has seen in last tour Indian players were not able to adapt to the changing conditions, hope this time around the story would be different. Ganguly, Tedulkar and Dravid forms the nucleus of the Indian batting. If one of them makes a big score in every match then only India can proceed through the tournament with ease.

The world cup is getting closure and I wish Indian team best luck and would expect them to win it.

I hope so…………..

Ramesh Powar lost to two established spinners, india cannot risk taking three spinners in west indies. Ramesh powar also needs to work on his batting and fitness, may be he should lose some weight. Kumble is experienced player and his type of bowling will be useful in west indies.

Review of "Final Draft" marathi play

First of all I would like to congratulate author\director\actor of "Final Draft" on excellent performance in the play. I am not avid watcher of Marathi play. I took a shot of watching “Final Draft” after some good reviews from my friend. I watched this play at Gadkari Rangmandir in thane. The ticket was cheap as compared to what we pay to watch disastrous movies at multiplex. So on that count I also would like to appreciate producers efforts on making play affordable to watch. First impression of “Final Draft” for me was unrealistic. I thought the protagonist girl was to fragile in her thoughts to inspire a arrogant professor to mends his way. Please understand that my views on this play are from my point of view and they may sound naïve. But I guess in any work if you want to reach the pinnacle of perfection you have to take in account all the viewer (also a knucklehead like me). I didn’t had problem in understanding the message of the play. But when I watch anything whether...

T20 World Cup Debacle- Lessons Learned

India unexpectedly knocked out of ICC T20 World Cup. All the team members were part of the IPL and had good match practice. All other foreign players who played in IPL are having game of there life in T20. Whether it is Chris Gayle, AB devillers and others. It was surprising barring Indian players all others who played in IPL are performing to the peak. Indians have been guilty of overdoing the T20 format. As rightly pointed out by coach Kirsten that the team lost because of fatigue. Dhoni can come up with other reasons as most Indian captain do, he cannot deny the negative impact of IPL on Indian players. Take a example of hard hitting batsman Suresh Raina. He was not able to score runs in T20 world cup even though he was very successful in IPL. The basic flaw in his approach was, he played in the world cup as if he was playing for Chennai super kings and opposition was Mumbai Indians. Youngster like him needs to understand the importance of playing according to the situations, pitch...
